What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser, so it can recognise you on your next request — to keep you signed in, for example, or to remember a preference.
How we ask
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing in those two groups is loaded until you say yes: refuse, and Google Analytics and AdSense are never requested at all.
Refusing takes exactly one click, the same as accepting. You can change your answer whenever you like from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, and withdrawing consent also clears the analytics cookies already stored.
The cookies we use
This is the full list. Only the first group is set before you have made a choice.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires | Group |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ineeda_session | INeedA | Keeps you signed in to your account. | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| ineeda_2fa_pending | INeedA | Holds the half-completed sign-in between your password and your two-factor code. | 10 minutes | Strictly necessary |
| ineeda_consent | INeedA | Remembers the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again. | 6 months | Strictly necessary |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors so we can count how many people use each part of the directory. | 2 years | Analytics |
| __gads, __gpi | Google AdSense | Measures ad performance and limits how often the same ad is shown to you. | Up to 13 months | Advertising |
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and stop this site from remembering your cookie choice, so the banner will reappear on every visit.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie, this page is updated. Where the change affects what you consented to, the banner will ask again.
